Organic products are grown with a lot of loving attention and care. Since they grow without artificial fertilizer, they can grow at their own pace, in tune with nature. You can taste that! GM has no place in the production of organic food. Organic farming systems have been designed to produce food with care for human health, the environment and animal welfare. The use of genetically engineered crops is not compatible with this aim. As well as potential risks to wildlife and human health, GM technologies have consistently underperformed, despite claims from the biotech industry that they are necessary to meet climate change, resource depletion and a growing global population.
Organic agriculture does not use chemical pesticides. Research consistently shows that organic products have negligible pesticide residues; normally below detection levels.
Vitamins, minerals and other nutrients
Research indicates that organic products, on average, contain more vitamins, minerals and other beneficent nutrients. Organic milk, for example, contains more healthy fatty acids. Although it has not been scientifically proven, we at Nature & More believe that organic food is healthier, if you define health from a systems perspective. Of course, fresh fruits and vegetables are healthy in general!
