Our farm is based near the village of Zeewolde in the Flevoland province of the Netherlands.  Only 50 years ago, this area was covered by the sea as part of the IJsselmeer.  The reclaimed land we now farm on is therefore very young and ideal for growing crops!

Bio Brass is a producer of fresh organic cabbages (brassicas) which we sell throughout Europe.   Our cabbage assortment includes cauliflower, broccoli, pointed, savoy, red and white cabbage.  When you want to grow healthy, organic cabbages it is essential to work with a well planned crop rotation system. As the name suggests, crop rotation means growing different crops in the same area from season to season. The system keeps the soil healthy and fertile and also improves the structure of the soil. At Bio Brass we work with a 1 - 6 crop rotation system meaning that after one season of brassicas, the land is used to grow other vegetables such as potatoes, peas, wheat, carrots, grass and clover.  One of my brothers runs an organic dairy farm and therefore his cows also benefit from this rotation system.
